Whop fees: the full schedule, with the maths

Whop charges 2.7% + $0.30 per successful domestic card sale and no monthly fee. International cards add 1.5% and currency conversion 1%. Optional services cost extra: billing automation 0.5%, payment orchestration 0.8%, managed tax 2%, affiliate processing 1.25%. Disputes cost $15 each. With every option on and tax collected, Whop's own documentation gives the all-in figure as 6% + $0.30.

The base rate at real sale sizes

$200$5.702.85%$194.30
$500$13.802.76%$486.20

The $0.30 fixed part is why the effective rate falls as prices rise: a $10 product pays 5.7%, a $200 product pays 2.85%. If you sell low-ticket items, price and bundle accordingly.

Tax

Whop offers three settings for direct sales: you handle tax yourself (free), Whop calculates and collects, you register and remit (2%, covers all US states plus 90+ countries via its tax partner), or Whop collects and remits (2%, US states, EU and UK). For marketplace ("Discover") sales Whop manages tax in the jurisdictions it covers. Whop is not a merchant of record in the way Paddle or Gumroad are — what that difference means matters once you sell internationally at volume.

The 3% platform fee that disappeared

Older articles — and some still ranking today — describe a separate 3% Whop platform fee on top of processing. That line was on the fee schedule in December 2025 and was gone by February 2026, with no announcement we can find. If you are reading a comparison that adds 3% to the processing rate, it is out of date. Our fee history note tracks the changes.
