Why is there a Whop charge on my card?

A "Whop" or "WHOP*" line on your card statement is a payment to a seller who uses Whop for checkout — a membership, course, community or digital product. Whop processes the payment, so its name appears instead of the seller's. To find it, sign in at whop.com with the email used at purchase, open your memberships, and cancel or request a refund from there. If you do not recognise the purchase at all, contact Whop support and your bank.

Find the purchase

  1. Go to whop.com and sign in with the email you (or the person who used your card) would have used. Try the email on your card's receipts.
  2. Open your account's memberships/orders. Each shows the seller, the product, the amount and the renewal date.
  3. Match the amount and date to the statement line. Recurring charges of the same amount are subscriptions.

Cancel a subscription

From the membership page, cancel the renewal. Access usually continues to the end of the paid period. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund past ones.

Get a refund

Refund policies are set by each seller and shown on the product page — many trading and picks communities are no-refund. Request the refund through Whop first; if the seller does not respond, use Whop's support. A chargeback through your bank is the last resort and costs the seller $15 whether or not it succeeds.

You don't recognise it at all

Check with family members who might use your card. If nobody did, contact Whop support (whop.com/support) with the charge details and your bank to dispute it as unauthorised.

This page exists because "why is there a Whop charge on my card" is one of the most common questions about the platform. It is written for buyers; the rest of this site is written for sellers.
