Whop's fee history: the 3% platform fee that quietly went away
Search "whop fees" and you will find figures from 3% to 7%. They are not all wrong; they are from different dates.
What we can document
| When | Published schedule |
|---|---|
| Before 2025 | Sellers commonly cite a 3% platform fee plus card processing; marketplace commission applied to Discover sales |
| May 2025 | Marketplace commission on Discover listings removed (per third-party reporting) |
| December 2025 | Fee schedule lists 2.7% + $0.30 processing and a separate 3% platform fee (archived copy reported by Ruzuku) |
| February 2026 | Platform fee no longer listed; schedule is processing plus optional services |
| September 2026 | 2.7% + $0.30; optional billing 0.5%, orchestration 0.8%, tax 2%, affiliate processing 1.25%; all-in example 6% + $0.30 |
Why it matters
Articles ranking today from Dodo Payments, Ruzuku, Kajabi and others describe "3% + payout + FX ≈ 7%". The 3% line is gone from Whop's schedule; the honest current figure for a domestic card sale with no add-ons is 2.7% + $0.30 plus $0.10 of fraud tooling. Add-ons are opt-in.
What could change next
Whop's pricing page advertises enterprise pricing with volume-based rates and country-specific rates, which suggests the published schedule is a ceiling for large sellers. We re-check the page monthly and update the fee page.
