The Whop app, and Whop apps

"Whop app" means two things. The Whop mobile app (iOS and Android) is where buyers access what they bought — communities, courses, chat — and where sellers watch sales, chat with members and take in-person payments with Tap to Pay on iPhone. Whop apps (plural) are the building blocks a seller attaches to a product: Discord access, courses, files, chat, forums, calendar, licence keys and third-party apps from Whop's app store.

The mobile app

  • For buyers: everything purchased in one place — course lessons, community chat, downloads, subscription management and receipts.
  • For sellers: dashboard, member chat, notifications, and Tap to Pay on iPhone for one-off in-person payments at 2.7% + $0.05 (no reader needed; not for subscriptions).
  • Available on the App Store and Google Play (com.whop.whopapp).

Apps as product components

When you create a product, you attach apps. Whop's first-party apps include Discord and Telegram access, courses, files, chat, forums, events/calendar, software licence keys and content rewards. Third-party developers publish others through Whop's developer platform. A single membership can bundle several — a Discord role plus a course plus a file archive is the standard "community" product.

Why Apple's cut matters

Purchases made inside the iOS app go through Apple's in-app purchase system, which takes its own commission. Reports from sellers indicate Whop marks up in-app prices to offset Apple's share so the seller nets the web price; direct buyers to your web checkout link when you can.
